What should be done if water is found to be hard

Although considered a luxury, treating water that is not above 3GPG hard is not necessary. It will provide extra comfort when bathing or shaving but the cost of the instillation will not be saved from the running of the system.

On the other hand, water that is found to be over 3 GPG would benefit from receiving treatment from a water conditioner.

This is because the effects of the hard water being softened would be extremely noticeable. Another advantage is that the savings that the water conditioner would generate would cover the cost of the installation.
