Water quality
The SDE UV Water Filter is designed for use on visually clear water, not coloured, turbid or cloudy.
- Ambient Water Temperature: 2-45℃
- Iron: <0.3ppm (0.3mg/l)
- Hardness: <7gpg (120mg/l)
- Turbidity: <1NTU
- Manganese: 0.05ppm (0.05mg/l)
- UV Transmittance: >75%
Recheck all connections prior to powering on the UV filter.
Should the UV Lamp or Quartz sleeve become damaged please power off the unit and replace the required parts.
Your SDE UV Water Filter is designed for continuous operation. Frequent powering on and off of the system will dramatically reduce the lifespan of the UV lamp.
If your UV filter becomes submerged in water power off the unit and retrieve. Please contact Industrial Water Equipment for further advice.
Do not operate your UV water filter if it has been dropped or damaged in any way.
Your UV system should be installed after the filter on the return line.
Always disconnect the UV from power and drain down if the unit is going to be subjected to temperatures below 0ºC for a prolonged period of time.
Important Safeguards
Risk of severe or fatal electrical shock when water is in close proximity to this electrical system. User must always disconnect power before performing any maintenance on this system.
This UV system must be grounded.
Always wear protective eye and skin wear. Germicidal ultraviolet rays are harmful to the eyes and skin, exposure should be avoided.
CAUTION: Risk of burning due to heat from the lamp when in use. Never touch the lamp directly; we advise always wearing protective gloves. |
System Maintenance
Monthly visual inspection for any signs of damage.
UV Bulbs should be replaced after 9000 hrs of operation. The lamp may still function after this period of time, however the UV intensity will be greatly diminished and therefore should be replaced.
Clean the Quartz sleeve every 3-6 months. This can be done with either alcohol or a mild detergent.
