MicroTREK level gauge operates on the well known TDR (Time Domain Reflectometry) principle. Micropulses are sent along a probe guide at the velocity of light. On reaching the product surface, the pulse is reflected. The time taken for this to happen is then converted into 4-20 mA current and HART signals.
As measurement is independent of dielectric, temperature, pressure and density variations, the MicroTREK can be used on heavily dusting applications; turbulent product surface, vapour and light foam have no effect on results.
