Purolite®
CT169
Macroporous Strong Acid
Resin Catalyst
Purolite CT169 is a superior
macroporous strong-acid catalyst resin
which has recently been developed from
poly(vinylbenzenesulfonate) cation exchangers.
While ordinary commercial styrene-based
sulphonic acid resins may often be used
for chemical reactions catalysed by the
H+ ion, faster process times, better yields
and higher product purity may be obtained
by using a properly designed and purified
catalyst resin such as Purolite CT169.Its
superior mechanical strength makes Purolite
CT169 especially suitable for use in fluidised
systems where mechanical resistance of
the catalysis resin is a very important
characteristic. Purolite CT169 may be
used for various catalysis application,
including tertiary alkyl methyl ether
(TAME) in particular, methyl tertiary
butyl ether (MTBE).
